Inside of Grant's house you'll find him asking Kate to be more lady-like. That request doesn't go over well with Kate, who says that'll never happen. Grant's worried about Kate. Kate thinks her father complains too much.
Grant tries to reason with his daughter, but Kate is just becoming more angry at him. She then blames her father's excessive worrying as the reason why her mother left! Grant is reminded how Kate blames him for his wife leaving and apologizes for how lonely they are. Kate calms down and also apologizes to her father for saying too much. He was hurt more than she was when mom left. Kate tells him she'll try to be a little more lady-like. Grant is so happy that he begins to cry a little bit.
