A Different HM Game?! | Posted at 08:04 PM 03 June 2014
Soooo.... yyyeeeaaa... AGAIN
This morning Natsume threw everyone into a frenzy by announcing a new Harvest Moon game called Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley. The game will be released for the Nintendo 3DS platform, that "innovates in a way that no Harvest Moon game ever has" such as with a "fully customizable world." The announcement states that the game will be out in North America later this year, with its debut at this year's E3 starting next Tuesday.
For those who are confused, Lost Valley is not the same game as Bokujou Monogatari: Tsunagaru Shin Tenchi from earlier this year. Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley is an all-new game from Natsume, which has not been released in Japan, while Tsunagaru Shin Tenchi was released in Japan last February and will be localized in North America by XSeed as Story of Seasons.
We've been calling Tsunagaru Shin Tenchi as Harvest Moon: Connect to a New World (which sounds better than its literal English-ized name, Chained New World) in anticipation of Natsume making an official announcement as to its English localization. With the announcement from XSeed last week and the new announcement this morning from Natsume, you can conclude that Harvest Moon: Connect to a New World will not exist in English.
There are two separate games: Story of Season and Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley.
There's not much information yet on Lost Valley, so there's nothing to speculate about its feature, playstyle, graphics, or anything else. We'll just have to wait until next Monday, when maybe I'll be able to get my grubby little hands on it ;) Story of Seasons will be at E3 too, but I'm already familiar with the Japanese version of the game.
