3oT Patch version 1.1 | Posted at 06:36 AM 05 August 2016
photographHappy Farm'n Friday! We've returned from our adventure in Switzerland. There was a lot of cow merchandise in Geneva, but I only spotted one actual cow in the urban area. There were some chickens, goats, and sheep though. The milk was some tasty stuff. Better than the super ultra pasteurized stuff from the grocery store here at home. There were also a lot of PokemonGo players. One of the main parks in town had several PokeStops close to each other, and players would gather among the rose garden to attach Lure Modules to the stops. The elusive Mr.Mime only appeared once in my game while I was there, and it disappeared right before I tapped on it. The toy store I visited did have a few video games for sale, but nothing Story of Season or Harvest Moon related. In general, there weren't a lot of StreetPass hits on either 3DS that travel with me. Just about everyone we noticed had a mobile phone, whether playing a game, listening to music, or texting their friends. While out of town, the first download patch for the Japanese version of Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns was released by Marvelous on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The free update 1.1 patch is 229 blocks in size and makes some unspecified gameplay adjustments (hopefully bug fixes). It adds a new tale from the picture story traveling bard, who is a red-suited fellow that shows up in the villages with a story that he narrates for you. The new tale is about a busy bread-baking girl who makes a bunny out of snow. The update also adds two outfits and two hats for crafting at Shizu's clothing shop in Tsuyakusa as suggested by Japanese singer and voice actress, Ayana Taketatsu. The first one is a fluffy outfit and hat combination inspired by her white pet dog, Choco. The second outfit is an idol-style striped black and white skirt with a coordinating top hat that can't be worn if you've a braided hair style (drat!). The patch also added a camera zoom ability to the old-style 3DS by tapping up or down on the directional pad. The camera can be either farther out (new) or closer (original) to your farmer with no in-between zoom options. The near/far option only affects the camera view while on your farm. This feature was in the demo build of the game shown during this year's E3. An upcoming download content patch later this year in Japan will unlock two existing Trio of Towns in-game characters as potential marriage candidates. No information yet as to whether this download feature will be available free or for real money, or whether it will be included by default in the English version of the game. The game has been out for over a month now, and new retail sales have (naturally) slowed as the game ages. Media Create estimates that total physical copy retail sales is now at about 167,500 from 156,400 two weeks ago. Until next time! - Cher (The cat-sitter didn't harvest any zucchini. Those courgettes are huge!)
