The Ushi No Tane websites specialize in information, FAQs, and guides about the Nintendo console versions of the Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, and Legend of the River King video games. These game genres are created and published in Japan by Marvelous (JP). In other regions, you'll find Natsume, XSeed Games/Marvelous (USA), Marvelous (EU), and Rising Star involved in the series' release.
The latest version of the mainstream farming series that have been released in various regions of the world are:
- Japan: Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (January 2023)
- North America: Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos (September 2023) and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (June 2023)
- Europe: Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos (October 2023) and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (June 2023)
The latest version of River King, in all regions of the world, is River King: Mystic Valley (JP 2007, NA 2008, EU 2009).
Since 2000, Ushi no Tane has been run by a grouchy old lady who happens to be fond of video game agriculture along with two feline helpers: Intern Captain Bootu and Intern Hondo Mewnaka. The website is not officially affiliated, sponsored, endorsed, or employed by the developers of Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, or River King. This is simply a fan site.

Skytree Bachlorettes and 3oT Mid-Nov Update |
Posted at 04:39 PM 28 October 2016This week we were introduced to the three bachelorettes in
Harvest Moon: Skytree Village. The game will be released in North America on November 8th (in 11 days!). This week we learned a little bit about Elise, Jeanne, and Melanie:
- Elise helps her father, Bastian, at the restaurant in Skytree Village. She wants to become a great chef when she gets older.
- Jeanne is trying to become a doctor who specializes in herbal remedies. She is smart but a bit goofy.
- Melanie is the granddaughter of the town's blacksmith, Gus. She runs her own design shop instead of getting dirty with her grandpa's work.
Also, Multiverse Studio is having a sale on their Harvest Moon mega plushies. You can get a discount on many of the big stuffed animals such as the panda, sheep, white rabbit, and chicken (my fav). The chick and cow are already sold out:
In the December issue of Nintendo DREAM from Japan,
Bokumono Producer Hashimoto talks about Sports Day (which was October 10th), delicious regional food (December's 4-col comic is about curry and he ties it to Skye from HMDS Cute, who also likes curry), and the upcoming third update for
Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns. The latest download is going through its final testing to ensure that all is well, and will unlock the two special marriage candidates: bachelor Woofio and bachelorette EmCee. This update is scheduled to be available to players of the Japanese version in mid-November. It is unknown if these two characters will be DLC in the English version or if they'll automatically be unlocked when the game is released in 2017.
Hashimoto also disclosed that they've received a lot of comments asking why marriage candidate Inari doesn't have a wedding outfit and why Inari is childless. These two issues will also be addressed in a next update, where Inari will receive ceremonial wedding clothes. Those who already have married Inari will see Inari's wedding outfit on their wedding anniversary day, so they don't have to restart their game to see the wedding and the new wedding attire. Hashimoto says they will also implement a method for having a child with Inari.
And here is the October Nintendo DREAM 4-col comic!
