Villager Personal Requests
As you raise your Chemistry with the villagers, you may be prompted to accept special requests from them. These requests will give you some backstory as to what each villagers' personal goals are. The Harvest Sprites don't have personal requests, but everyone else who visits or lives in the valley does.
You can locate your requests by pressing the X Button to open the main menu, then selecting the Requests menu. The Requests log will list all of your current active requests or filter them out by storyline requests (which are marked with a !), personal requests, and completed requests. To learn the details of a specific request, highlight the request in the list and then press the Y Button. You can then see what the person is specifically asking you to fetch for him or her.
As you collect items and play through the game, you might see a message appear on your top screen that says "Your request progress has been updated." When you see that message, quickly press the X Button to bring up the active request that prompted the message to appear. It can help remind you of what your goal is for completing the request. Likewise, when you accept a request from someone, you can press X after the prompt appears to go to the request details to discover what the person wants you to find.
After you accept a request, you can't erase it from your request log. It will remain there until you have completed it. Requests don't have a time frame for completion, so you are free to take your time; the downside is that you won't get additional requests from that person until your active request has been completed.
You can use higher level items to complete a request as long as you have the correct quantity of items. For example, if your request requires 3 Great Milk and you have 3 Ultimate Milk in your bag, the game will ask if you want to use the better quality item. Unfortunately, even if you had both types of milk, the game will only complete the request using the higher quality one; selecting "No" will simply exit out of the request prompt. You would have to remove the Ultimate Milk from your bag to force the game to complete the request using the lower quality Great Milk from your bag.
Once you complete all of the personal requests from a villager, you'll begin to receive seasonal requests. These can be repeated multiple times per season (e.g., you can finish the seasonal request, and the next day it might be available from the villager again). Marriage candidates have 10 personal requests, and the other villagers have 7 or 8 requests.
Andrea's Clock
This villager is available in the game after you purchase the New Female Character optional download package. Andrea is looking for materials to work on a new clock design, and needs you to fetch her various items she needs.

The master blacksmith needs some help with hunting down ore for his work. The insta-buildings you receive will also become available in Doc's shop inventory. To get Brutus' requests to appear, you need to pay him to refine ore while he is in shopkeeper mode on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Hunter's Feed
Hunter develops special feed recipes and requests that you craft the feed to try on your animals. You can either take the time to make the feed he requests (which often require many difficult ingredients and a Windmill from Doc's Assistant #3) or you can simply buy the special feed from Sam's shop. Once Hunter gives you a request for a feed, the next day Sam will include that feed for sale in his inventory.
One issue with Hunter's requests is that many of the crafted feeds require Fodder Cornmeal. The special corn you need is a mutation of Corn, but early in the game it isn't easy to obtain. You can use 3 Cornmeal (Windmill + 1 Corn) in exchange for 1 Fodder Cornmeal. The Windmill recipe for Cornmeal is received for completing Emily's Cooking #4. Hunter will begin to reward you with Fodder Cornmeal after you complete the first request.
