Goats and Camels
Along with Sheep and Alpaca/Llama, Angora Goats and Camels also produce fur. This fur can be converted into cloth via the Sewing Studio and then into materials for clothing outfits and accessories.
- The white Angora Goat becomes available once you reach spring of year 3. Each goat is 25,000 G at Cabin Country at the Trade Depot. The goats only come in the white color.
- The brown Camel is an exotic fellow from Silk Country. You need to be in spring of year 4 or later before you can buy one. Each camel costs 30,000 G.
Collecting Hair
You will need to utilize the Clippers to collect the fur from angora goats and camels. An angora goat will produce clippable fur every 4 days, and a camel will be shearable every 6 days. Note that the by-product will be named "hair" rather than "wool" or "fur" like with the other wooly livestock you own.
Angora goat and camel fur can be turned into cloth via the Sewing Studio, but it can only be turned into silver-colored or gold-colored cloth and yarn. This conversion can take a long time in the machines.
You can increase the number of By-Products you receive from your animals by feeding them Baa-Baa Treats. You can buy these treats from Cabin Country for 200 G each. You'll need to give (at most) 154 Baa-Baa Treats to raise an angora goat to 5 By-Products, and 182 Baa-Baa Treats to raise a camel to 5 By-Products. The number of By-Products it gives will never decrease if you stop giving it treats.
Birth and Death
Camels and goats cannot be impregnated by any of the vendors at the Trade Depot. If you want more of them, you have to buy each one.
These livestock will naturally pass away when they become too old. A normal, well-cared for angora goat has a chance of passing away when it is 5 years old, and a camel can pass away beginning at 6 years old.
