Angora Rabbits and Gray Angora Rabbits
These little hopping fellows will produce fur for you. Angora rabbits live in the Coop along with your chickens, but with some restrictions. You can only have two rabbits living in a single Coop. A Coop can hold up to eight animals, so if your Coop is full of chickens, then you cannot place any rabbits inside of it.
There are two types of rabbits:
- The pink Angora Rabbit is for sale at Silk Country for 15,000 G starting in fall of year 1.
- The darker Gray Angora Rabbit is also sold at Silk Country but not until spring of year 3. Each gray rabbit costs 20,000 G.
Rabbits are silent animals. They quietly hop and look around. You can feed your rabbits in the Coop by placing Rabbit Feed into the square feed bin on the east side of the Coop. For feeding outdoors, you will need to construct a Rabbit Feeder and place it near the Coop. The blueprint is for sale at Silk Country for 2500 G after you own a rabbit. Each Rabbit Feeder requires 10 Small Lumber to build.
Collecting Fur
Every four days you can collect Rabbit Fur from pink angora rabbits and Gray Rabbit Fur from gray angora rabbits. Rabbits will shed their fur onto the ground in the northwest corner of the barn. You just have to walk over and pick it up. If you let the fur sit there on the ground, it will still be there when you finally collect it. On the day the fur drops onto the ground your bunnies may look a little naked; the next day they'll be back to their fluffy selves.
Rabbit fur can be converted into cloth by using the Sewing Studio. The pink-colored Rabbit Fur can be colored, such as red, gold, and others, but the Gray Rabbit Fur cannot be colored into anything other than its natural gray color.
You can increase the number of By-Products you receive from your rabbits by feeding them Flipsy-Flopsy Treats (not Baa-Baa Treats that are used for the other fur-producing livestock animals). You can buy these treats from Cabin Country for 200 G each. You'll need to give (at most) 111 Flipsy-Flopsy Treats to raise a normal angora rabbit or gray angora rabbit to 5 By-Products. The number of By-Products it gives will never decrease if you stop giving it treats.
To make your rabbits permanently produce plus-quality goods, each animal must spend at least 100 in-game hours in the Safari. You also might obtain plus-quality goods from an angora rabbit or gray angora rabbit with a Level-Headed personality once the animal reaches at least 7 friendship hearts.
