Trade Depot Customer Points

Just as you have your relationships with the villagers and fellow farmers of Oak Tree Town, you also have a relationship with the vendors who run their booths at the Trade Depot. This relationship is built on the interactions and familiarity you have with the vendors and is measured in Customer Points (CP). As you increase your Customer Points with the international traders, you can unlock new blueprints in their shop inventories. CP also unlocks wild animals from the vendors that will go either in the wilds around Oak Tree Town or within the wildlife Safari, and can trigger special item sales.
You can see your current relationship with the Trade Depot vendors by checking the Almanac in your farm house bookshelf. Pan through the menus with the Shoulder Buttons on your 3DS until you see the Trading Partners table. Each vendor you have unlocked will be displayed here. When your Customer Points are low, this screen will appear to have nothing significant to display.
As you increase your Customer Points, smiley faces will appear next to each of the vendors. Each smiley face represents 2000 CP, with a maximum of five faces (10,000 CP). You won't see your first face until you have reached at least 2000 CP, and there is no half-face 1000 CP indicators.
Earning CP
There are three ways to earn Customer Points with each of the vendors of the Trade Depot:
- Selling or Buying from a Vendor: Each time a vendor appears at the Trade Depot, you can buy something from the merchant or ship something to the merchant to earn points. Doing this with a merchant will earn you 20 CP. You'll only earn the points the first time you either buy or sell; you won't earn 20 CP each time you buy or sell to a specific vendor.
- Completing Shipping Requests: When you walk into the Trade Depot on Spring 28 or later, Jonas will let you know that the vendors are beginning to ask for special shipping requests. Simply talk to Jonas at the Information Booth and select the Accept Request option to sign up for a request. When you have the required item, talk to the merchant to turn it in. Besides receiving the money for the shipment and its associated appreciation, you will earn 7 CP. You can complete as many requests as you want each day, earning 7 CP for each one.
- Spring 25 Tea Party: The biggest jump in Customer Points is the tea party that Veronica sets up for the international traders on Spring 25, starting in year 2. If you choose to participate in this event, you will earn 1000 CP for each of the vendors who come to your farm house to partake in tea and chit chat.
You won't ever lose Customer Points.
Vendor Sales
As you increase your CP, you have a greater chance of the vendor having a 20% off sale. When you check Jonas' Recommended Shipping table, on the far right-side is a SALE column. If a circle is marked under the SALE column, the that vendor is having a 20% off sale on his/her stock inventory (seeds, cloths, wardrobe accessories, gems and ores, etc.). The sale does not affect blueprints, animals, cooking recipes, or patterns. A merchant's sale will continue until the end date for the current recommended shipping week.
When you have less than 1000 CP, there is only a 1% chance that the vendor will have a sale that week. By the time you reach 5000 CP, you'll have a 20% chance of a sale. When you reach the maximum 10,000 CP, the sale opportunity for that vendor will be 38% per recommended shipping week.
New Blueprints
As you increase your CP with each of the vendors, new blueprints will appear in their inventories. You will need to earn thousands of CP before something shows up, and with a limit of 20 CP per day (plus whatever shipping requests you complete), it will be some time from the beginning of the game before any CP-related blueprints are for sale.

The blueprint for the Mini Western Castle is for sale at Rose Country, but based on Silk's CP.
Wild Animals

The other function of Customer Points is unlocking new wildlife animals. Luckily you don't need a large amount of CP to receive new animals. When you have earned the necessary amount of CP, the vendor will inform you that he/she has a present for you. The next time the vendor appears at the Trade Depot, you will be given a wild animal.
The animals that you can receive based on Customer Point levels are:
- Brown Monkey, Safari - 500 CP with Silk Country
- Duck, Safari - 500 CP with Cabin Country
- Boar, Safari - 500 CP with Sakura Country
- Fox, Riverside Pasture - 500 CP with Wheat Country
- Tanuki, Harvest Plaza - 500 CP with Rose Country
- Parrot, Safari - 500 CP with Tropical Country
- Lemur, Safari - 500 CP with Tropical Country
- Polar Bear, Safari - 500 CP with Ice Country
- Panda, Forest Road - 1000 CP with Silk Country
- Bear, Safari - 1000 CP with Wheat Country
- Penguin, Safari - 1000 CP with Ice Country
- Spoonbill, Safari - 1500 CP with Silk Country
You will need to build expansions within the Safari before you can receive some of these animals. The Bear requires the Boulders expansion (300 Lumber + 500 Stone + 100,000 G). The Parrot and Monkey require the Forest expansion (600 Lumber + 100 Stone + 100,000 G). The Polar Bear and Penguin require the Iceberg expansion (200 Stone + 900 Ice + 500,000 G). All of these can be built at Gunther's Carpentry shop once you've reached the minimum amount of Customer Points to unlock the wild animal. Seedling mode will reduce the gold cost of the expansions by 30%, but you still need the required amount of construction materials.
