The two girls are in the backroom of the café, where Joan tells her granddaughter that she's set her up on a blind date! Marian doesn't want the date, but Joan asks that she at least look at the picture of the guy she set her up with. Marian still refuses.
Marian explains that her parents use to do the same thing. When Marian became single, her parents kept trying to set her up with dates. She came to Zephyr Town to try and get away from her parent's pressures. Joan didn't realize that it was a problem, and promises not to set Marian up on any more dates.

Raul welcomes you to his shop, and as you start browsing his inventory, Marian walks into the shop. Their café has run out of coffee and she wants to know if Raul has any in stock. Raul heads over to his shelves and fetches it for her, but just as she is about to pay, Marian realizes that she's forgotten her wallet.
Raul offers her the coffee for free. How kind of him! After she leaves, Raul says there's nothing he wouldn't do for her. Unfortunately Marian doesn't know how Raul feels about her. He becomes a little depressed and asks you to leave his shop for awhile.
