Peter is the recluse who lives mid-way up the slope of Alba Mountain. His 100-floor mineral mine is closed until you reach about half-way through Chapter 5, when you'll be asked to help enforce the support structure that allows folks to safely spelunk for goodies within the mine. A quick-return elevator unlocks every 5 floors you descend.
Items in the mine can be found as crystal nodes or hidden under the floor's ground. Tap on the mini-map in the upper-right corner to use the dowsing function to search for goodies under the surface. Locate the center of the circle area indicated on the mini map, then tap on that spot to use the hammer and discover a hidden item or the ladder down to the next floor. Occassionally, you will find nothing when hitting the center of a dowsing target.
Besides an item or ladder, you may find a floor crack that can cause you to fall through to the floor below if you walk across the crack. Just discovering the unstable floor will not automatically cause you to crash through one or two floors below; you have to intentionally walk across the crack to fall. Using the floor cracks to descend the mine will use stamina, but can be faster than hunting for the single ladder down to the next floor.
You can pass out when falling through cracks if your stamina is completely depleted when you land. If this happens, you'll wake up inside your farm house at Noon the next day, with a small amount of stamina restored. You'll still have the items you found before you fainted.
A fish pond will be on every floor divisible by 5 (e.g., 5, 10, 15, 20, etc.). The types of fish you can catch become rarer the farther you go. Fish unique to the mine are the White Piranha, Super Red Arowana, Golden Carp, and Nidhogg. When falling through floor cracks, you will never fall past a fishing pond floor.
The fish found in the Savita fish ponds are available all year long.
If you try to toss your line into a fish pond and find that the game does not respond, you have to exit the mine, save your game, and then close and relaunch the game.
You may also trigger falling rocks after using your hammer. You can try to move out of the way from their shadows, but I find that's difficult to do when using a touch-screen device. I tend to simply let the rocks fall, then eat Fried Egg to recover the loss to stamina.
Ores and gems do not have star rank or specialty medals. The profit listed below is what you receive when you shipped the item via your shipping bin, not sold directly to merchants. You'll earn 10% more profit using the bin.
