Freya and Jules

Remember, you must first 1) get married to someone other than Freya/Jules, 2) seen their 6-Heart events, and 3) told them both to "Go for it!" when prompted for romance advice.

Rival Event 1

Freya and Jules come across each other as they are walking through town. It is unusual for them to be at this same spot at this time of day. Freya explains she forgot something and had to return to town to retrieve it. Jules confesses that he had to return because he forgot his lesson material for his students. Oops!

Freya compliments Jules on how dedicated he is as a teacher to go all the way back to get his materials, while he acknowledges how passionate she must be with her work. Though she notes how thoughtless she can be on occasion, Freya hopes that both of them can turn this day around into something positive. As they turn to leave, Freya suggests they walk the rest of the way together. Jules smiles at that idea.

Rival Event 2

Freya notices that Jules is deep in thought and sits down nearby to listen to his tale. Jules explains that he has a new student who is different from any student he has experienced before. As it turns out, this student is an amazing listener, but they are hesitant to say anything other than "yes, sir" in response to anything that Jules says. It is as though the student is keeping everything to themselves.

Freya thinks for a moment and suggests that maybe Jules needs to teach this student that there is more to the world than school textbooks. She points out that the fact Jules is worried about this student means he is the best person for the job. Besides, he is a great teacher! Jules understands what Freya is getting at and intends to give it a try the next time he meets with this student. Someday, maybe he can return the favor for her great advice.

Rival Event 3

Jules walks up to where Freya is sitting to bring her a book she had expressed interest in reading. Freya doesn't notice him at first, which makes Jules wonder if she's okay. Freya pops up and tells him she has plenty of energy, but Jules is skeptical. After some prodding, Freya admits that she has been feeling a bit lethargic, which led her into some deep thoughts about choices she's made in her life.

Jules recommends that Freya go home to rest; the book can wait for another time. The best way to regain her energy would be to go to bed early. Before Freya can object, Jules heads into the cafe.

When he returns, Jules explains he paid for Freya's meal. Now all that is left is for him to escort her home. Besides, he did say he would return the favor someday. Freya smiles and agrees to go home and rest.

Rival Event 4

Jules is pondering again as Freya enters. She had some free time and thought she'd come by for a quick visit. Freya notices the music record in the cabinet and chuckles that it's nice to see that Jules has hobbies other than reading. Jules responds by telling her that the records belonged to his mother, not him.

His parents enjoyed listening to the records. They were so enamored with each other that Jules admits that when he was a kid, he was a bit of a pest in an attempt to gain their attention. Looking back, he hopes to have a relationship as strong as his parents'. Jules becomes nervous, but eventually blurts out what he's been thinking: he would be delighted if Freya would stay by his side.

Freya's response is one of shock, and Jules quickly becomes embarrassed about his request. Freya catches her breath and tells him that she has the same desire to find someone she could form a bond with. Freya had been imagining what it would be like to listen to records with Jules, just like his parents did long ago. Jules simply asked before she could! Jules is relieved that he was on the right track and asks her again, and she agrees.
