Gabriel is a skilled painter and sculpture who speds his days capturing the beauty of Zephyr Town in his art. His workshop is southeast of the hotel, bordering the stream that runs through the center of town. When he isn't working on a project inside his shop, Gabriel head out to paint scenes of the day-to-day activities of the town.

Gabriel sculpted the large statue of Mayor Felix that is in the bazaar grounds. He also crafted the painting in the Sunnywood Hotel lobby. He's quite the artist!

In the original Nintendo DS game, this character's English name was Angelo.

Gabriel is surprised to see you around, as he's been busy sketching the scenery before him. He's still just a novice artist, practicing his craft. In fact, the reason he is here in Zephyr Town is because Mayor Felix liked his art.

The artist was excited to learn that another new person was moving to town. Someday, he would like to paint a portrait of the old farm. Gabriel is assuming that the place is about to become much livelier with you around! Generally, the scenery in Zephyr Town is so wonderful that he could sit here and sketch forever. Gabriel dreams about his art putting a smile on someone's face.

1-Heart Unlock Request

Inspiration Needed!

Gabriel has a bit of an artist mental block and ask you to find him something inspirational to get him unstuck. He asks that you bring him 1 Perfume. You can make this using the red windmill on your farm. The eastiest is either Herbal Perfume (2 herbs) or Floral Perfume (3 wild flowers). Return the bottle of perfume to Gabriel to receive a Florest Signboard. This item will be added to the Small Decor options at your bazaar booth. When placed in the bazaar, the item gives a Level 1 Popularity bonus to flowers sold during the bazaar.

Gabriel is doing some touch-up work on the painting in Mayor Felix's office. Felix loves his magnificent painting, calling it a "masterpiece." Gabriel is a bit taken aback by the compliment, despite Felix's praise of Gabriel's artistic talent. The mayor asks about the progress on the next piece. Gabriel admits that he's having a difficult time getting started. He wants the piece to highlight the heart of Zephyr Town, but nothing he starts feels right. Felix asks if you have any advice for the artist.

Option 1: Don't think, just draw!

You're right. Gabriel admits he might be overthinking. If he puts pen to paper, inspiration is bound to appear!

Option 2: Maybe try something else?

Gabriel worries that he's been trying to work this out for so long that perhaps he has lost sight of what inspired him in the first place.

Felix has complete confidence in Gabriel's skills and wants the artist to take his time with this project. Gabriel thanks you for your sound advice.

In Need of a Sugar Boost!

Oh, poor Gabriel is so hungry! He can't think straight anymore. Gabriel wants 5 1-star frut. This could be Strawberry, Melon, Watermelon, Pineapple, Orange, Peach, Mango, Red Grapes, Green Grapes, or Apple. Bring him the fruit to receive 20 Warm Dye.

Gabriel is super excited to explain his updated plan. He has been doodling everything he sees around town. Which brings him to this question: can he sketch you while you work?

Option 1: Go for it!

He really appreciates you accepting his request. Gabriel was so excited about the idea that he didn't sleep much last night, but he's not going to get a wink of sleep until this sketch is out of his head.

Option 2: Sounds embarrassing...

Gabriel admits it is an out-of-the-blue question. He explains that you won't even know he is there; go on doing your normal farm activities as though he's not there.

You return to working with the crops while Gabriel works on his art in the background. After some time has passed, he lets you know he's completed his figure study. Gabriel mentions that when he was drawing things around town, the whole environment felt more colorful and detailed. He realized that it started after you moved to Zephyr Town.

Gabriel finally realized the direction he wants to take his latest artwork. He hurries home while the idea is still fresh in his mind.

Where Could it Be?

Gabriel has lost a bag containing his sketchbook. He believes he may have dropped it somewhere in the bazaar area. Head into the bazaar and search the tree in the northeast corner of the ground floor, to the west of Sophie's Fruitopia stall. Bring the bag to Gabriel to receive 5 3-Star Gold ore.

 

6-Heart Event

Gabriel has stopped by the farm to tell you he finished his latest artwork. If it weren't for you, he wouldn't have been able to complete it. Gabriel asks if you would accompany him to Felix's house to show it to the mayor.

Felix looks over the artwork called The Heart of Zephyr Town and proclaims it to be a brilliant masterpiece! He can feel the gentle breeze simply by looking at the painting. Now, where to hang it? Stuart arrives to talk to the mayor about another matter, and also recognizes Gabriel's painting as a fine work of art. Wouldn't it look great at the hotel? Felix objects, as this painting should be where residents visit his office. Stuart argues his hotel is the best location. The two grumble at each other for a moment, then come to their sense. Felix decides it would look better at the hotel; no, Stuart feels the painting should be hanging in the mayor's office. Oh, here they go again...

Gabriel offers another solution. He'll take the painting back with him until a location has been officially decided.

The two of you return to the farm, relieved to escape the quarrel between Felix and Stuart. Gabriel was glad to see they were both enthusiastic about his artwork. He admits that after he finished the piece, it felt like the world is full of brand-new colors. Gabriel assumes it is because he had the opportunity to meet you. How do you feel about him?

Option 1: I've fallen in love with you.

This means he can be together with you forever! As he doesn't want to forget this moment, Gabriel offers to make another artwork, this time using you as a model. Even though you would be the perfect subject, you reject his proposal. Gabriel is fine with that, as long as you'll allow him to love you.

Option 2: You're a great friend.

Yes, we'll be best buds for life! Your response makes Gabriel very happy.

It's up to you whether you want to be an official pair or just best buddies. There is no penalty for telling every marriage candidate that you love them; it merely changes the day-to-day dialog to feel more affectionate compared to being great friends. The candidate's character description in the Main Menu will note they are either "your newfound love" or "your trusted friend." You can continue to raise their affection to the maximum 10 hearts and propose marriage whether friends or lovers.

Dying for Some Omelet Rice!

Gabriel really wants 1 4-Star Omelet Rice, since it is his favorite food. This recipe is hidden inside of Gabriel's house, in the bookcase. You need to make 5-Star (or higher) Cooked Rice, then a 5-Star or higher Omelet (Egg + Butter), and then combine both meals to make an Omelet Rice. Bring the dish back to Gabriel to receive 1 5-Star Sparkly Bracelet.

The bracelet isn't a unique item; you can make more by attaching a Purple Wonderstone to the yellow windmill, so feel free to sell it at the bazaar for oodles of money.

 

Marriage Proposal

Gabriel insists on letting Felix be the first person to know about the engagement. At Felix's house, the mayor is excited to hear about the upcoming marriage and declares that he'll be in charge of the wedding plan. Oh boy!

At the scenic overlook in the Mountains, Gabriel can't remember the last time he was this happy! He becomes inspired to capture the moment in a painting. You can be his model for all his future artwork! Despite his enthusiasm for his future projects, Gabriel realizes he needs first to express his thoughts using words by telling you how much he loves you.

The marriage proposal event will last all day, ending at 7:00 pm in front of your house.
