Gabriel and Maple

Remember, you must first 1) get married to someone other than Gabriel/Maple, 2) seen their 6-Heart events, and 3) told them both to "Go for it!" when prompted for romance advice.

Gabriel is wandering around town, though he seems perplexed. Not even a tasty orange beverage lightens his mood! As he continues to meander, Maple can tell there's something bothering the artist. Gabriel explains he is having a tough time deciding the motif for his next piece. That sounds like something a master artist would say! Gabriel replies that he isn't a master; in fact, far from it. He would love to share something soon, but at this rate, it may be a while.

Maple realizes that creating art is harder than she assumed it would be. Since his paintings are always so amazing, she thought he had fun making them. Gabriel tells her it is fun to paint. He wishes there were a way for everyone to know how much fun it is.

That gives him an idea! Gabriel suggests to Maple that she try drawing something. He senses she's hesitant to try, so he tells her it doesn't have to be a masterpiece. All that matters is that she puts her heart into the art. Maple thinks for a moment and decides she's going to give it a try. It does sound like fun!

By the bridge, Gabriel is still struggling with his latest piece. As he continues to ponder his dilemma, Maple appears with an art pad. She wants to show Gabriel her drawings, but is a little nervous. Gabriel takes a look and is impressed with her style.

Maple explains that once she realized her art didn't have to be perfect, she had a lot of fun drawing scenery and people. Gabriel is happy that Maple figured out that having fun is what making art is all about. Though Maple stuck with black-and-white pencils, Gabriel tells her that the drawings are full of energy. Maple is excited to try adding color next time, and off she goes to doodle some more.

After she leaves, Gabriel chuckles about taking his own advice about ignoring perfection and expectations.

Maple is sitting in front of the hotel, working on her drawing. She is struggling with the piece, though. Gabriel walks over to check on how she's doing. Maple knows she's not expected to make a masterpiece, but she wants it to look kinda nice! Gabriel replies that her ambition to improve her drawing style is proof that she's making progress in improving herself and her art. Gabriel then hands her a box of colored pencils to try out.

Maple does some doodling and is excited about the quality and brightness of these pencils. Gabriel tells her to keep them as a thank-you gift. She reminds him how drawing was supposed to be fun, which has helped him make progress with his latest artwork. In fact, Gabriel promises that she'll be the first one to see it once it is completed. Maple then has a great idea - why don't they show each other their finished drawings at the same time? Gabriel thinks that is a great idea!

Maple arrives to show Gabriel the drawing she had been working on. As he reviews her work, Gabriel notices that the doodle of the person resembles him a little bit. Maple explains that she drew her favorite spot in town, and it wouldn't be complete without Gabriel being in the picture. She asks for his feedback.

Gabriel begins to giggle to himself. Maple fears that her drawing is really bad, but Gabriel asks her to review the drawing he had been working on.

Over at the art easel, Maple recognizes the hotel in his drawing... is that an image of her in Gabriel's art? He explains that once he decided to draw whatever he wanted, it turns out that his heart wanted to draw an image of her. It seems as though both of them drew something that was dear to their hearts. Gabriel is pleased that Maple feels the same way toward him. The two artists decide to stick together from now on.
