A cheery Sophie meets up with June by the flowerbeds. She has to tell her friend about the compliment she received from a bazaar visitor about her necklace. June senses there is more to this story. Sophie then says the necklace in question was the one June made for her, meaning (according to Sophie's logic) the guest was, in a way, complimenting June as well! June points out that the necklace was made with Sophie's tastes in mind. Sophie will treasure the necklace forever!
Forever? June asks if Sophie intends to wear the same necklace when she's an old lady. June then points out that it may not be fashionable at that point. Sophie is a little sad about that, so June agrees to remake the necklace once Sophie is "super old." Sophie gleefully points out that means they'll be friends even when they have gray hair and can barely walk anymore! Oh yeah, June figures that will probably be true. They'll be friends forever.
