My Little Junebug

Screen Shot

Erik is nervous. He paces a bit, gathers his strength, and bravely asks his daughter how she has been doing lately. This unusual question annoys June. Erik backtracks a bit and says what he's been wondering: Is there anyone June is romantically interested in? June was not expecting that question!

Erik explains that she doesn't have to answer if she's not comfortable. He had been reminiscing lately about how he married when he was about the same age as June is now. She grumbles and replies that she will let him know if that ever happens. Naturally, Erik assumes that means she has a sweetheart right now. June quickly resets his expectations. There is absolutely NO wedding talk going on.

Ah weddings... Erik starts dreaming of the day he can walk his little "Junebug" down the aisle at her wedding. He starts to become sentimental and teary-eyed. June puts her foot down again. If he has enough time to think about these things, then perhaps he needs to rest. June notes that Erik gets like this when he's overworked. How is he supposed to walk her down the aisle if he's collapsed from exhaustion? Erik is pleased with his Junebug's concern for his health, as though she's now all grown up.
