You walk into the hotel to see Stuart a little melancholy. He's watching a guest of the hotel chatting with the guest's child in the lobby. Stuart doesn't realize you're there when you check on him, which startles him a little bit. After calming down, Stuart explains he is simply deciding on what to have for lunch today. He leaves to see what is available in the kitchen.

Sonia comes out of the back and notices you are worried. After you explain Stuart's strange behaviour, Sonia tells you it's okay; Stuart gets this way from time to time. You see, their adult son lives in another country, and while they're grateful for the person he has become, Stuart misses him terribly. Sonia explains that the more Stuart misses their son, the more he has to pretend to be happy. They constantly worry about him... Sonia stops and apologizes for bringing up such a gloomy topic.

Stuart returns from the kitchen, right as Maple returns to the hotel from an errand. She has brought Stuart's favorite food - Mont Blanc cake. Gabriel gave it to her to give to Stuart. The hotel proprietor perks up a bit. Oh, Maple forgot something! She heads back out of the hotel to fetch what she needs.

Sonia smiles and mentions how much Maple livens up the place. Stuart agrees; that smile of hers is surely infectious. He even invites you to share the cake with them once Maple returns.
