The two friends are hanging out indoors on this gloomy day. Samir finally breaks the silence and asks Arata if Samir's father sent Arata to Zephyr Town to watch over him. Arata says it wasn't too big of a deal; he was simply asked to watch Samir's back. Samir laments that he was foolish to believe he could move freely without supervisory interference. Arata assures Samir that he's not there to report back on Samir's activities or act as his handler.
Samir apologizes for Arata having to postpone his training regimen for this job. Arata says it's cool - this place doesn't really justify the need for a bodyguard anyway. Samir jokes that as his official bodyguard, Arata is required to follow orders, such as using the hotel's facilities to take a bath instead of jumping into a river. Ug, Arata doesn't see the point of using something to stay clean that is going to get dirty anyway. Samir reminds Arata that it's part of the job, after all.
Arata points out that living in this town may be good for Samir. It's an opportunity to kick back and just be himself. Relax a bit! On the other hand, Arata feels Zephyr Town may be a little too peaceful and quiet. There isn't even a military training ground here!
