Treasureland

Once you reach Rank 4 (City Bazaar), Charles will visit the bazaar grounds to research a new shop location for his unnamed company. You'll find him in the northwest corner of the market area.

Charles has Plans: The company he works for is looking to set up a recycling shop, but Charles needs materials before that can be arranged. He asks that you bring him 99 2-Star Iron, 5 Sturdy Stone, and 5 Sturdy Lumber.

• You'll need to raise the quality of the ore by donating foraged items to Ivy the Nature Sprite. A 2-star quality requires a donation level of 12. Charles will accept Iron that has a higher Star Rank.
• Sturdy Stone is manufactured at the blue windmill by combining 5 Stone to make 1 Sturdy Stone. Stone is made at the red windmill by processing 5 Rock. Essentially, you need to collect 125 Rock to process into 25 Stone to process into 5 Sturdy Stone.
• Sturdy Lumber is the same process as Sturdy Stone, but using Wood and Lumber instead of Rock and Stone.

Charles is a character from Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley (EN Release: April 2010). He is a bodyguard for the Funland Company CEO, who is trying to raze the valley to build a new amusement park.

Once complete, the Treasureland stall will trade and buy recyclable items that are pulled up while fishing. Items such as empty bottles, boots, and cans can be exchanged for more valuable goods. Charles does NOT accept Fish Bones, as that item is in its own category ("Fish Bones") and not in the Recyclables item category.

Besides swapping junk for treasure, Charles will buy an individual piece of recyclables. You can earn far more money selling the recyclables directly to Treasureland than you would if you sold them to customers at your bazaar stall.
