Chen's Store
Just to the south of your farm is Chen's Shop, which is open Saturday through Thursday and closed on Fridays. Chen has a variety of items you can purchase for your farm and your farm house. He can also buy items that you can't sell by tossing it into the shipping bin.
Buy Seeds
Each season Chen will sell seeds for you to grow on your farm. On the last day of the season you'll find the next season's seeds available in his inventory. Some of his options are available from the start of the game, but there are seeds tha won't appear for sale until you have increased your hidden Crop Degree point values.
There are no crops that grow during Winter season.

Combining 7 Wonderful Chips together at Charlie's shop will earn you a Wonderful Stone. But ideally you will not want to combine these purchased chips with ones that you win from festivals. Merging your winning chips with Chen's store-bought chips and then bringing them to Charlie will always result in a Purple Wonderful. It is best to only buy Chen's chips if you have an immediate use for them such as when you are preparing to craft Wonderful Stones using your kitchen.
Sell
Chen will buy items that you have in your rucksack. For items that can be sent via your shipping bin, Chen's offered price will not be as much. He does buy old tools and accessories if you're trying to free up storage space.
