Achievements
The list of in-game challenges can be found in the Records section of the DocPad. There are 28 achievements for players to unlock as part of the base game.
Additional achievements are added for those who purchase the Animal Avalanche DLC, Visitors from Afar DLC, Tools and Interiors DLC, and Crops, Fish, and Recipes DLC. These achievements are separate from the original in-game challenges and are noted with a "+" category icon in the DocPad. You don't have to buy DLC to complete the original 28 achievements; they're extra goals for players who did.
Original Achievements
Champion of Anthos
Unlock all achievements
Pretty self-explanatory. Complete the other 27 main challenges and be rewarded with this last one.
Legendary Farmer
Harvest every kind of crop
There are 163 crops and 68 flowers to discover, including 19 giant crops. Crops and flowers that are added via DLC aren't requried to unlock this trophy.
Legendary Explorer
Find all Power Wisps
There are 160 of these little glowing boogers hidden around Anthos. They're in rocks, in trees (including 1 banana tree down in Lilikala), and sometimes out in the open. They also appear in towns as you unlock the towns' cultural level.
The Harvest Goddess will track how many you've collected and how many there are left to find. She does this as one of her post-story options at her shrines. Unfortunately, she doesn't tell you where the remaining Power Wisps are located in your game.
Legendary Prospector
Collect all gems and ores
Explore the mines to find all the available ores and gems. All of the gems can be located starting on floor 41 of the volcano mine. The ores can all be found there, too. The easiest spot for Raw Orichalcum Ore is near the Volcano Summit warp statue, where there are 2 nodes close by. This is tracked in the Ores and Gems section of the DocPad encyclopedia.
Legendary Breeder
Acquire all animals and pets
This includes both adult and baby forms of the cows, sheep, and chickens. There are no baby versions of the pets, but you do need to collect at least 1 of every mount, bear, large cat, small cat, dog, ferret, rabbit, and bird at some point in your playthrough. These creatures are tracked in the Animal section of the DocPad encyclopedia.
Legendary Angler
Catch every kind of fish
Reel in at least one of every species, regardless of star rank. The list of fish can be found on the Fish Encyclopedia.
Fish received from villager request rewards will fill in an encyclopedia entry, but do not count towards earning this achievement. That's why this achievement might not unlock once your complete the fish encyclopedia.
The easiest thing to do to figure out which fish you received as a reward (and did not catch) is look through your list of completed villager requests. Open the DocPad and navigate to the Requests list, then look through the completed tasks. Once you see the one that gave you a fish as a reward, head out into Anthos and go catch that fish.
Legendary Chef
Make all dishes
Besides the town restaurants, the adventuring merchants also sell meal recipes, some costing 30,000 G a piece. There are 140 meal recipes to collect. You do need to have a child to obtain the last kitchen recipe: the Baby Formula.
You must cook every dish using your kitchen. While receiving a cooked meal from a Villager Task reward will add its entry into the Encyclopedia, it won't work towards unlocking this achievement. You can see which dishes you have not cooked yet by looking at the list of recipes in the Encyclopedia and checking the Times Cooked listed underneath the Ability you have with that recipe.
Priceless Memories
Travel the world with your family
This is a story event that takes place 1 season after your child is full grown. Go through all of the travel stories to unlock this task.
The Height of Happiness
Have a wedding
You simply have to get married.
Fruit of Our Love
Have a child
This will naturally occur about 2 seasons after the wedding. The pregnancy or dream event triggers 28 days after the wedding, and the child arrives in the farmhouse another 28 days later. Enjoy not getting a good night's sleep for the next 3 seasons!
You're Rich!
Make 1,000,000 G
This appears to require you to have 1 million G on hand. The game tracks your spending money separately from your overall income.
Peace of Anthos
Return peace to Anthos
Earn this achievement after restoring the Harvest Goddess Spring as part of the game's story.
Gold Medalist
Win all advanced level contests
Every competitive contest has three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. You must win each level to unlock the more difficult version of the contest. The medal count is tracked in the Records portion of the DocPad.
Trilling Days
Participate in any festival on a date
Specifically, take part in the Flower Festival (spring), Big Fish Festival (summer), Music Festival (autumn), or Aurora Festival (winter). Villager requests to revive these festivals become available after the walls surrounding the towns are released.
I don't know if the Harvest Moon Festival counts for this achievement, as it replaces the Music Festival on Autumn 22nd.
Farming Master
Master any crop ability
Raising your ability with a crop is done by harvesting the crop. You can see your current ability with each crop and flower by looking at the plant encyclopedias inside the DocPad. Newbie ability is between 0 and 49 crops harvested, intermediate ability is from 50 to 249 harvests, advanced ability is 250 to 499, and master unlocks when you've harvested 500 of a specific crop. The higher the crop ability, the easier it is to grow a 2-star quality crop at harvest.
Diligent Worker
Have any village reach the maximum Cultural Level
Each towns' cultural level is noted as stars in the upper-left corner of the screen when you're within the town boundaries. Increasing this level is as easy as completing requests for the town's villagers and shipping goods from a farm space that's near the town; for example, at the Breezy Plains farm space near Providence to influence Providence's cultural level. Not every farm space available will add influence, as some are located too far from a town center to have an impact.
Novice Farmer
Harvest your first crop you grow yourself
Grow a crop. Harvest the crop. Easy peasey!
A Breeder's First Steps
Get your first animal
You'll unlock this challenge after you repair the animal barn in Lectenbury, when Judy stops by to give you a free chicken.
Festival Fanatic
Participate in a festival
Any 'ol festival will do.
Bronze Medalist
Win any contest
Participate in a competitive festival and win at the beginner rank. The festivals that work towards this achievement are the Fish Faceoff, the Equestrian Challenge, the Mining Meet, and the Critter Crawl. The Anthos Expo might count (I think?) but by the time you unlock the post-story expo, you most likely have already won several competitions.
Did I Plant This?
Harvest a mutated crop
Planted seeds can grow into different varieties depending on the location and season they are planted in. This challenge unlocks the first time you harvest a crop that didn't turn out the way you plan-ted (har har har... dad jokes...)
What a Big One!
Harvest a giant crop
There are 19 crops that can mature into a giant variety of itself. Only the basic crops (turnip, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, etc.) can grow into giant varieties; chickpea and lentils do not have giant varieties.
Triggering a giant crop requires you to grow the crop in its ideal season or terrain, utilize fertilizer to maximize its star rank, and give empty space around the crop for the plant to mature into a 3x3 giant variety.
This Land is My Land
Find all moving locations
Locate all 15 farm spaces and activate their bird perches. This can only be done after completing the main story. Doc Jr won't activate the expando-farm perch at the volcano hot spring until you've restored the Harvest Goddess Spring.
Natural Disaster Master
Use fences to protect your crops from bad weather
Doc Jr can construct farm field protection components at his crafter shop in Lectenbury: Wooden Fence, Wooden Fence Corner, and Wooden Fence Entrance. Placing these pieces around a crop field will protect the plants grown within from bad weather storms. The fencing will flash while their barriers are activated. While the fencing comes in various colors - brown, white, blue, and pink - all colors will have the same level of protective benefit.
Ver's Full Tummy
Complete the Lectenbury village story
Help Ver with his craving for Turnip Stew as part of the Lectenbury storyline.
Enraptured Aestas
Complete the Lilikala village story
Help Aestas with her desire to have a Shining Pearl as part of the Lilikala storyline.
Dancing Autumnus
Complete the Herbstburg village story.
Help Autumnus get his grove on as part of the Herbstburg storyline.
Hot Hiems
Complete the Zimagrad village story.
Help birthday-suit Hiems obtain proper winter attire as part of the Zimagrad storyline.
DLC Achievements
These achievements are associated with the game once you've downloaded the DLC. No DLC = no extra achievements.
DLC 1 - Animal Avalanche
An Amazing Discovery!
Keep all varieties of the mysterious Sasquatch.
There are four large, fuzzy creatures located throughout Anthos for those who activated the Animal Avalanche DLC. These creatures are out during the daytime (6:00 am to 7:00 pm) and startle very easily if you get too close too fast:
- The Lectenbury Sasquatch is at the base of the Crescent Moon Falls.
- The Lilikala Sasquatch is on an island in the south sea. You have to go through the volcano to reach the backside of the mountain, then travel across the shallow sea to where the sasquatch is hiding. The path to the island is not around during winter.
- The Herbstburg Sasquatch is on the last island in the north of the region. This requires you to repair several bridges, including one that requires 10 High-Quality Board Lumber, 8 High-Quality Square Lumber, and 4 Titanium.
- The Zimagrad Sasquatch is part of the Animal Avalanche story. Gunnar will point you in the direction of its location in the Thin Ice Landing area.
Taming and housing all four of these guys at the same time inside the animal barn will unlock this achievement.
Friend to All Animals
Keep all additional animals except the Sasquatch.
This tasks requires you to tame all other Animal Avalanche DLC creatures, both house pet and barn pets:
- Both nighttime unicorns, white (the Harvest Goddess Spring farm space) and pink (desert oasis)
- The akita dog near the Herbstburg farm space
- The orange raptor in the alcove north of the Raindrop Pond warp statue in the desert
- The little otter in the Lilikala area
- A panda found in the high cliffs surrounding Lectenbury
These guys require 4 barn spaces and 2 house pet spaces. This challenge will complete when you have all 6 animals on your farm.
DLC 2 - Visitors from Afar
Expanding Our Business
Help develop Verne village.
Complete all the stars for Verne Village's cultural level.
Return on Investment
Complete the Verne village storyline.
Help the company expedition leader, Charlotte, set up a new outpost for the global company her dad is the president of. There are several fetch requests involved, but it shouldn't be too difficult for you to complete. New shops and two new marriage candidates are available once this story has reached its conclusion.
It's Great Real Estate
Move to Verne Village.
A new farm space will unlock on the west side of the company's outpost, located above the Crescent Moon Falls in the Lookout Plains area. The field space measures 10x20 crop squares, so it's smaller than the Harvest Goddess Spring. Shipping goods from this farm space will influence Vern Village's cultural level.
A New Business Venture
Interact with the Verne Trading Company
After unlocking the Visitors from Afar DLC, head into the desert to locate the company employees.
DLC 3 - Tool Upgrades & Interior Designs
Master Upgrader
Upgrade all your tools to the maximum level.
Doc Jr. has a new set of tools he can construct. He'll ask you to bring him 1 Adamantite Ore, 1 Raw Tourmaline Gemstone, and 1 Raw Alexandrite Gemstone. He'll then be able to supply the Harvest Goddess tools by exchanging your Legendary tools and supplying materials. He has a hoe, watering can, axe, hammer, pickaxe, fishing rode, and sickle. Get all six Harvest Goddess tools to unlock this achievement.
- Harvest Goddess Hoe = 1 Legendary Hoe + 5 Damascus Steel + 2 Adamantite + 15,000 G
- Harvest Goddess Watering Can = 1 Legendary Watering Can + 5 Titanium + 2 Adamantite + 15,000 G
- Harvest Goddess Axe = 1 Legendary Axe + 5 Platinum + 2 Adamantite + 15,000 G
- Harvest Goddess Hammer = 1 Legendary Hammer + 5 Damascus Steel + 2 Adamantite + 15,000 G
- Harvest Goddess Pickaxe = 1 Legendary Pickaxe + 5 Platinum + 2 Adamantite + 15,000 G
- Harvest Goddess Fishing Rod = 1 Legendary Fishing Rod + 5 Titanium + 2 Adamantite + 15,000 G
- Harvest Goddess Sickle = 1 Legendary Sickle + 5 Damascus Steel + 2 Adamantite + 15,000 G
Interior Designer
Make all additional home interiors.
New styles based on Herbstburg, Providence, and Lilikala will appear at the crafter shops. You'll find the new designs at:
- Beds are at Doc's shop in Lectenbury
- Carpets (i.e., the rugs) can be found in Lilikala
- Floorings and Wallpaper are at Herbstburg
- Cabinets and Table/Chair Sets are in Zimagrad
Lilikala's furniture requires Coconut found in the palm trees around the topical beach area and on the small island behind the Lilikala Animal Shop. Providence's requires Olives, which you can get from the desert Oasis and the hilltop directly southeast of the Harvest Woods warp statue in the Herbstburg region. The Apples needed for Herbstburg's styles are plentiful: on the islands of the Fall Harbor Hideaway, south of Breezy Plains, etc.
In total there are 18 farmhouse interior pieces that need to be purchased to unlock this achievement.
DLC 4 - New Crops, Fish, and Recipes
Foodstuff Fanatic
Get all additional crops and fish.
This last game content update adds 7 new crop and 5 new flower seeds (as well Harvest Wisps carrying these seeds). There are also 18 new mutations that can trigger from the additional seeds, including a new GIANT crop, for a total of 29 new plants that need to be discovered. The DLC will send letters to the farm house mailbox with seed bags attached, which allows you to then locate those seeds using the Item Search function in the DocPad.
This DLC also brings in 6 new fish to catch. Two of the fish are also sent via letter, but the remaining 4 fish must be located by the player (unless you read the Fogu guide DLC page; then you'll know where they all are). The Blue Barracuda is a summer-only fish and is the only one that could take some time to catch.
Complete all 35 new entries in the encyclopedia to earn this achievement.
World-Class Chef
Make all additional dishes.
There are a total of 20 new cooking recipes. Nineteen of these can be found by hunting down Brendon when he's in traveling adventurer mode. The last recipe is from Gunnar when he's traveling about. Many of these recipes use the new Soybean crop added by the DLC.
