Visitors from Afar | DLC | Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos

This extra content DLC pack was released on October 17, 2023. This content update includes a post-game story, a new village, and 2 more marriage candidates.

The morning after the DLC downloads, the Tiny Harvest Goddess will explain she heard a rumor about travelers lost in the desert. She encourages you to investigate, though she probably could have done so herself; she is the Harvest Goddess, after all. Anyhow, off to the desert!

Walk into the desert from the entrance to the north of Lilikala to trigger a cut scene of a trio of travelers. They are incredibly lost, hot, and thirsty. Despite their leader assuring her companions to continue walking, the two men are on the verge of collapsing. Luckily, you find the wanders before anything disastrous happens and take them to Providence.

Westly and Vivi are fine accommodating the lost visitors. Their leader introduces herself as Charlotte. Along with Louis and her little brother Antoine, they are a part of the merchant association called the Verne Trading Company. They were on a scouting mission to locate a new base of operations for their company and ended up getting lost. The rest of the merchants are waiting on the ship for the party's return. Charlotte explains they've come from far away searching for new trading partners. Vivi suggests that Lookout Plains would be an excellent place for a base of operations. Plus, it's close to Lectenbury.

Head to Lookout Plain, located in the high cliff area south of Lectenbury. There's already a full-sized town here! How did they build this so fast?! Charlotte takes you around to see the buildings under construction, such as the town Tool Shop, Animal Shop, fabrication and food labs (i.e., a Crafter and a Restaurant), and the company's headquarters.

At the company HQ, Charlotte introduces you to her secretary, Jacques. When she explains that you were the one who helped when they were lost in the desert, Jacques questions her explanation; the report she submitted stated that the scouting party had escaped the desert on their own before eventually encountering locals from Anthos. Charlotte brushes off her secretary's questions before asking him to return inside and prepare a nice pot of tea.

Inside headquarters, Jacques thanks you for saving Charlotte. He welcomes you to shop at the company's establishments once they're up and running. You see, while they have all the necessary technology, they need help collecting the raw materials to finish construction. You volunteer to collect the materials for the company. Charlotte insists on offering adequate consideration for your goods. She asks that you bring them 10 High-Quality Board Lumber and 30 Iron. In exchange, Charlotte will give 10 Matsutake Mushroom, and after some prodding from Jacques, adds in 10 Gold (metal) too.

Bring the materials back to Charlotte, who thanks you and then asks that you talk to the other merchants. They need help fixing their shops, too.

Beatrice at the tools shop needs 3 High-Quality Square Lumber, 12 Material Stone, and 10 Glass.
Chef Louis wants to repair the restaurant building and needs 8 Square Lumber, 3 Iron, and 3 Miracle Truffle. You can find the mushroom in the alcove north of the Raindrop Pond warp statue and the nook northeast of the Lost Desert warp statue. Another Miracle Truffle is on the path to the summit of the volcano; take the Volcano Mid-Slope warp statue and then follow the path northwest. Instead of going west when the road breaks to go to the volcano summit, keep following the path until you get to the cliff overlooking Lilikala. You'll find a Miracle Truffle there.
Crafter Juliette asks that you bring her 8 Board Lumber, 2 Iron, and 2 Diamond to help fix her workshop. Raw Diamond Gemstone can be found in the Zimagrad West mine or the Volcano mine starting on floor 41.
Oliver needs 3 High-Quality Board Lumber, 5 Material Stone, and 10 Grass to fix the animal shop building.

Bring all the material to the Verne merchants so they can finish building the village shops. After completing the last request, wait a day before returning to the company village.

Charlotte will greet you when you enter the village, excited that the company outpost looks more like a village. Let's celebrate the founding of Verne Village with a party! Charlotte plans to invite the people from Providence as thanks for their help, and you're welcome to attend, too! Charlotte starts planning the party and asks that you return tomorrow.

There are a lot of company employees and several Anthos residents at the ceremony. Even Doc Jr joins in, chatting with Jacques on technology and other engineering topics. Off to the side, Charlotte says she has another matter to discuss with you later.

Return to Charlotte the next day (or later). The merchants want to try their hand at farming crops, but they're having difficulty obtaining seeds. There aren't any seeds to spare from the local Anthos villages. Charlotte asks if you know how to get hold of a large volume of seeds. After Jacques coldly reminds her that a trade deal should be in place first, Charlotte negotiates 1 Adamantite and 5 Platinum in exchange for 40 Wheat Seeds, 15 Queen of the Night Seeds, and 15 Rising Sun Seeds.

Wheat Seed wisps are found around Lectenbury and Providence. The Lectenbury tool shop also sells Wheat Seeds (in limited quantity until you unlock the Master ability with wheat). Remember that you can use the Harvest Goddess' seed-making abilities to convert 1 Wheat Seed into 3 Wheat Seeds.
Queen of the Night wisps are harder to track down. They can be found in the desert from 7:00 pm until 6:00 am. You can also sometimes receive these seeds for completing a villager request from Nemo when he's in traveling merchant mode, where you can also buy these seeds from his inventory while he's outside his flower shop.
Rising Sun wisps are north of the new Verne Village, in the cliff areas around Lookout Plain. A few blue Harvest Wisps are carrying these seeds, too.

Bring the seeds to Charlotte, who is excited to start farming. She requests that you come back after 3 days to check out how the VTC farms are doing.

Head back to Verne Village to meet with Charlotte and Jacques. Thanks to your efforts, the boss lets you know that the merchants have successfully started farming. Jacques also wants to thank the merchants for their hard work. Charlotte thinks for a moment and comes up with an idea to make Nut Cake for their comrades. It's a delicious treat from her hometown that everyone will surely enjoy! Jacques is dismissive of his boss' plan; there aren't enough Walnut Trees here, she's bad at cooking, and there won't be enough to give to everyone.

After mister-bummer Jacques leaves, Charlotte refuses to give up on her plan. While she insists on making the cake herself, she needs help collecting ingredients. She asks that you bring her 10 Walnut and 5 Egg. You can find Walnut Trees in the Herbstburg region. If you don't have any chickens for eggs, Judy's villager requests will often reward you with 3 eggs. Note that the task is asking for plain Egg and will not accept Silkie Egg or Araucana Egg as equivalent ingredients.

Bring the ingredients to Charlotte, who has one more task for you. She'd like you to try her latest attempt at Verne-Style Nut Cake. Of course, it's delicious; what cake isn't a tasty treat! Charlotte is excited that her practice batches have resulted in a treat excellent enough to give to the company employees. You're invited to the celebration too, as you are the Verne Company's VIP trading partner.

The employees gather to enjoy Charlotte's Nut Cake at the newly-renovated restaurant. Besides being delicious, it reminds them of home. Even Antoine is surprised at his big sister's baking success. Charlotte is pleased that she figured out what her employees wanted.

When Jacques stops by, Charlotte expects more nitpicking from him about her latest project, but instead, he compliments her. Charlotte's secretary is pleased to see that their expedition leader was able to show her worth as both a merchant and a manager. In fact, Jacque suggests that they write to the company president and recommend Charlotte for the role of regional manager in Anthos.

Charlotte is excited about the future possibilities with the Verne Trading Company. She thanks you, too, for engaging in favorable deals with the company.

At this point, the Verne storyline is complete. You can work on raising the town's cultural level, complete villager requests, and romancing Charlotte and Jacques (if you're not already married). You can also make Nut Cake in your kitchen by combining 1 Walnut, 1 Wheat, and 1 Egg. Eating the cake restores 2 hearts of stamina.
