Power Wisps
Besides normal wisp that carry bags of crop seeds, you'll also find golden Power Wisps throughout the world. You will be rewarded with a single Harvest Wisp Fruit when you find a Power Wisp. The Power Wisp will then disappear from Anthos, and a golden fruit icon will appear on your world map to indicate you've found that Power Wisp. There are 160 Power Wisps around the island.
The special fruit will be stored in the key items section of your inventory bag.
Harvest Wisp Fruit are exchangeable at the Harvest Goddess Spring for stamina and bag size upgrades. Trading 3 Harvest Wisp Fruit to the goddess will earn you 1 stamina heart or 3 extra slots of space in the food, items, or materials section of your bag.
- You can have a maximum of 20 stamina hearts
- You can have a maximum of 40 item slots per bag section
How you manage your upgrades is entirely up to you. There are more Power Wisps in the game than there are upgrades available, so you're not forced to locate every Power Wisp to maximize your stamina and storage. You only need to find 135 Power Wisps to have 20 stamina hearts and 120 bag slots. There is an achievement awarded if you do happen to locate all 160 Power Wisps.
When you do find all 160, return to the Harvest Goddess Spring and ask her to check your remaining wisp count. As a reward for having zero Power Wisps left to find, she'll reward you with 10 Alexandrite, 10 Paraiba Tourmaline, 10 Tanzanite, 10 Adamantite, and 10 Orichalcum.
Trickier Power Wisps
Some Power Wisps stand out in the open but often you'll find these guys within rocks and trees. The only hint you may find that indicates there could be a Power Wisp is the out-of-place single tree or rock found at the end of a long path. You'll have to chop the tree or smash the rock to release the golden wisp from its hidey hole.
There are also 2 Power Wisps in each village that appear when the town's cultural level goes past 2 stars and 4 stars; there are no Power Wisps associated with the Verne Village DLC.
There is 1 Power Wisp found in a Banana Tree west of the Lilikala Mine. To find the wisp, interact with the Banana Tree to collect the fruit, interact with the tree again to read Tiny Harvest Goddess' explanation that it's a fruit tree, and then interact with the tree a third time to chop it down.
There is a Power Wisp hidden in the volcano in a room that is easy to miss. The above video is a walkthrough of how to locate the room where this golden sprite is hidden, starting from the top of the volcano in the outside area that overlooks Lilikala Village, just before the path that splits off to go up to the Volcano Summit.
You'll also find Power Wisps hiding on small islands in the middle of lakes and ponds. Those wisps are protected by the seasons, where the water levels lower during summer or freeze during winter. Keep an eye on your DocPad map to see when the pathways across the waters become available.
The Power Wisp surrounded by water in Providence Village is accessible during summer, when the fence preventing access to the waterway disappears.

Below is a map of all 160 Power Wisps, captured during winter season when many of the waterways are frozen and walkable. Thanks to the fellow farmers on Reddit who banded together to locate them all!
