Foraging
There are a lot of things to buy when you first start the game. Unfortunately you won't have the funds to do so! Luckily there are a lot of free items around the island that you can ship for money, with very little effort.
Wild grasses and flowers grow throughout the land every season. You can pick these items, ship them, and the next day you will find new ones to collect. Wildly grown plants are all over the place, but you won't find any on your farm or on the Plaza island.
The grasses are also good for recharging your Hunger Bar when it gets low. If you don't have a Diner or Cafe on the island, you can eat the colored grass instead.

Seaweed is a special item only available during the Spring season. You can find it on the large boulder located on the beach. To collect the Seaweed, stand next to the boulder and tap it.
The Seaweed is used as a cooking ingredient, for food, and can be shipped for money. This item is good to ship if you are just starting out, since it can bring in around 800 G in profit! Don't sell it to Chen though, or else you'll only earn 108 G. You can collect Seaweed every day.
