Bachelorettes

There are five woman you can marry if you're playing as the male protagonist. The villagers have select gifts that they love, which results with a heart icon on their portrait when you give the gift. Most other gifts will be accepted and result with a music note on their portrait. There are select gifts that they don't like, which results in no emotion icon. You won't lose affection if you give a bad gift.

Gabrielle

An introvert by heart, Gabrielle prefers the company of cats than of humans. She lives on the outskirts of Calisson, near the bridge that leads to Lebkuchen. Gabrielle is a vet by trade and has knowledge of what herbs and other goodies can heal a sick animal. She charges a lot of money for her services to ensure that she isn't asked by animal owners for assistance, as Gabrielle feels that she causes more harm than good.

• 0.5 Hearts: Talk to Gabrielle by her house. You want to know more about her? Gabrielle isn't interested in telling you more about herself. You then ask her about the plant she's growing by her house. Gabrielle tells you it is called Hemlock. It's not something people should eat, but the butterfly larva love it.

  Best choice: How kind of you.

• 1.5 Hearts: Walk into Braden's ranch area to see Elijah watching a cow. The berries the cow is eating look tasty! You eat them too, but then realize that you don't feel so good. Braden and Elijah take you to Gabrielle (because the cow got sick too). When you wake up, Gabrielle explains you and the cow both ate a poisonous Yew Berry. She also scolds you for caring more about the cow than of yourself; in your poisoned-berry delirium, you had asked her to take care of the cow first. Gabrielle tells you to rest for now, and reminds you that she can't take care of you every time you get yourself hurt.

  Best choice: But I care about animals!

• 2.5 Hearts: Walk to the forest between the Calisson farm area and the chicken weathervane. Gabrielle pretends that nothing is going on, but then a bird flies away from behind her. She admits that she was there to care for the injured bird. Gabrielle wishes that everyone cared for animals the way that you do. She was gifted her skills from her predecessor, so she wants to use them as much as possible to help animals. But she felt that things went wrong more often than right. The little bird then returns and brings its friend, which convinces here that maybe she has what it takes to help animals after all.

  Best choice: You're really too kind.

• 3.5 Hearts: Gabrielle will be standing outside of Elijah's house at night. She is out taking a stroll. You know, you're easy to talk to! Gabrielle realizes that she was running away from her fear of what happens when she cares for animals based on her earlier experiences. Since meeting you, she has cared for more injured animals and has come to realize that it brings her joy. Gabrielle wants to travel to Pastilla to finish the animal care that she started, but if she gets depressed again, she asks that you help to heal her heart again.

Ahina

Ahina is a happy lady who works at the Mahalo Cafe in Halo Halo. Her specialty is making coffee drinks, which might explain her highly-caffeinated personality. Ahina also loves to eat and keeps an eye out for little tasty tidbits for her to snack on. Her love of food is why she's good at cooking.

• 0.5 Hearts: Ahina will be standing by her mobile cart, explains to you that her friends are getting married and want her to bake their wedding cake! She is having a hard time deciding what kind of cake to bake. It shouldn't be too sweet and yet still pair well with coffee. She hopes that you'll volunteer to help her taste-test the cakes when she's done baking.

  Best choice: They all sound delicious!

• 1.5 Hearts: She'll be by her coffee cart again. Ahina has made cake samples and wants you to try them out. There's so much cake! She had so many ideas that she made them all, but for her friends' wedding she'll only make one. After you taste them all, she'll ask which one you like best.

• 2.5 Hearts: Walk into the Mahalo Cafe to see the wedding reception. Holokai presents them with the chocolate cake that Ahina baked for the ceremony. They love it! Ahina thanks you for reminding her that the cake was for her newlywed friends, so she need to ask them what they wanted. Then she combined it with a hint of coffee to make a cake perfect for a wedding! Ahina recognizes now that she needs to think more about the needs of her cooking audience and not what she wants. A good dish has to both taste good and bring smiles to those eating it.

• 3.5 Hearts: Ahina will visit your house in the morning to bring you her special coffee brew. It's delicious! It would be great if you could drink this every day! Ahina hints that maybe there is a way for you to enjoy her coffee every day. She admits that lately, she has been thinking that it would be wonderful if she could make you yummy food for your tummy. It's all she can think about! Ahina blushes and escapes out of embarrassment.

Malika

A desert rose who lives in the Dead Forest area to the east of Pastilla, Malika is content with living by herself with the local wildlife. The nearby Mole Brothers are nearby if she needs anything as she waits for the flowers to regrow in the forest. She once lives in Pastilla proper, but moved to the edge of the forest to be closer to nature and escape the confining customs of the town.

You're okay with it, which makes her happy. Perhaps the two of you can become close friends? Malika hands you a bag of seeds to symbolize your budding friendship. Let her know when it sprouts!

• 1.5 Hearts: Visit Malika by the oasis again to let her know the seeds she gave has sprouted. Malika admits that nothing happened when she planted the same seed. She's curious how you were successful where she had not. She wonders if the seed only sprouted because you have a pure heart. Perhaps you can event get the plant to produce a flower.

• 2.5 Hearts: Head over to the Harvest Sprite tree by the Dead Forest. Looking at the forest makes Malika really sad. Remembering how the actions of the Pastilla villagers negatively affected the forest is depressing, especially since there was nothing she could do to stop them. Malika wonders if she too will repeat her mistakes. To cheer her up, you tell her that the seedling has sprouted a flower. If the seeds are collected, the could be planted in the forest. Malika is worried that the planted flowers will disappear, but just maybe the flowers will make the forest beautiful again.

  Best choice: You're scared? How intriguing...

• 3.5 Hearts: Walk close to Malika by the Harvest Sprite tree to see her with a watering can. She tells you that she was invited back to Pastilla, but would prefer to watch the changes to the town from a distance. Plus, Malika would rather work on reviving the forest. She requests that you move closer to where she lives, as any flower is bound to bloom when you're nearby! Besides, Malika assumes you'd like to live near her too. Maybe that means she wants to be close friends with you? You don't have to answer right away.

Laura

Laura works with her brother Tristan at their bread and cheese shop in Lebkuchen. An unfortunate event in her life caused her to begin to suffer from a memory condition. She cares greatly for her brother, as he would do anything to maker her smile.

The memories she has of him are clear, despite that she had problems remembering more recent events. She feels remorse for all that Tristan went through and how terrible a big sister she must be.

  Best choice: No, you're a good sister!

• 1.5 Hearts: Visit the goat farm to meet with Laura and Tristan. She leaves to gather some milk for cheesemaking, and Tristan asks that you assist her. She smiles a lot more when you're around. Tristan thinks it would be great if you spent more time together with her. Later, you and Laura finish making the fresh cheese. It's delicious! Let's wait until tomorrow to make more.

  Best choice: Let's leave some for Tristan.

• 2.5 Hearts: Walk into the cheese and bread store to have a meal with Laura and Tristan. Her brother leaves to get back to the ranch, leaving the two of you alone. Laura says her outlook has brightened since she can now wake up and recall memories from the day before. It's all thanks to you! You've also managed to place a courageous light deep within her, which makes her feel that she is doing fine. Laura knows she'll need your help in the future.

• 3.5 Hearts: Head to the goat ranch to meet with Laura. She collected a lot of milk and plans to make cheese and ice cream. Do you want to do it together? Laura remembers that the last time you worked together, you suggested leaving some cheese for Tristan. She's excited that she remembers something! Tristan notices his sister's smile. He's even happier when he learns that Laura remembered making fresh cream with you. You spend the day working with Laura. When it is over, Laura says she's full of joy. She gives you a crown of flowers. She wishes that you can be together with her from today forward, because she loves you.

Kirsi

Kirsi is a researcher from the Kaurismaki clan of Saimiakki, tasked with trying to figure out why the town's crops are not growing correctly. She's quite analytic in her crop research, though she's open to other methods when hers don't pan out. Kirsi double-duties as the schoolteacher of the town.

Even after the students leave, Kirsi must grade papers and then help with the daily village duties. Do you have any tough questions she can help you with? She soon loses track of time with giving her answer.

  Best choice: Can reindeer really fly?

• 1.5 Hearts: Walk into Kirsi's house and you'll find her asleep at the school tables. Seems like some papers fell onto the floor, so you pick them up for her. She awakens and demands to know if you read them, then apologizes for her outburst. Kirsi is writing a story and wasn't ready to let everyone else know. She is glad that you were the one to find it and not anyone else. It'll be your secret.

  Best choice: I totally understand. or But it's really good!

• 2.5 Hearts: Walk towards Eino's house and you'll find Kirsi taking the kids out on a field trip. She knows you're there, but she's busy trying to concentrate on the kids. After the field trip you catch her going back to the classroom. She reveals that she did see you, but she was observing you. Let's discuss this another time.

  Best choice: I gotcha! or Did I ruin your mood?

• 3.5 Hearts: Walk towards the Crop Research Area and you'll find Kirsi. She takes you back to her house to show you the finished manuscript she wrote. The story is based on all the good things you did to help Salmiakki. You've changed the village for the better, and even Kirsi's feelings have changed. After you left, she started to miss you until those feelings started bubbling up from within her. Either way, this story will eventually have its conclusion.

Sana

This young maiden lives with her brother Shogen on Wagashi Island. She has lived a rather sheltered live on the island and wants to see the world and make her self more "globe all" (global). Sana is a bit clumsy and wants to help others with their problems as much as she possibly can. You have to complete the Wagashi Island story before you can start to see her heart events.

She doesn't want to be a terrible sister that would allow him to wear raggedy clothes.

• 1.5 Hearts: Walk into Shogen and Sana's house again to find her under distress. She got some new cloth to make clothing but she's upset that only Shogen will be able to wear the outfit she sews! You tell her that you'll tell other non-ghost people about her creations. Even imagining you wearing her clothing design gets her creative juices flowing.

  Best choice: I'll model them, too!

• 2.5 Hearts: Visit Sana when she's inside her house. She has decided that it would be best for her to sew yukatas instead of kimonos, as they're simpler for a first-timers to wear. Sana is excited thinking about everyone wearing the clothes she's making. She asks that while you have helped by promoting her clothes to the other villages, it's time she set out on her own.

  Best Choice: Take care out there.

• 3.5 Hearts: Walk towards the boat dock on Wagashi Island before 5:00 pm. Shogen is trying to convince his sister not to go traveling to sell her clothing. Before she heads out, she tells Shogen not to worry and invites you to wait for her at her house.

  You both wait for her to return. Success! The women of Halo Halo loved Sana's yukata. Maybe she should set up a store! Sana found the trip to be profitable, but it would have been even better if you were with her. She musters the courage to tell you that she'd like to always be by your side. Sana feels relief that she finally told you, as it was all she could think about during her trip. You don't have to respond right away. She doesn't mind waiting!
