Clothing
Since there are two new farmer styles in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, there are also two new clothing styles: the original GBA overall clothes, and the new mondern-day sweathshirt/hoodie style. These styles are locked to the gender you select when you start your farming adventure. Each gender will have an overall style and a hoodie style, but you can't wear the opposite gender's clothing (e.g., girl players cannot wear the boy-style hat). There are six boy overall outfits, six boy hoodie outfits, six girl overall outfits, and six girl hoodie outfits. The rucksack color for both overall styles is orange. The boy hoodie style has a blue rucksack, and the girl hoodie style has a red rucksack.
The default clothing outfit can be changed on your second day of the game. The farmhouse comes with a mirror that you can use to swap to a different color or style. Simply press the A Button when standing in front of the mirror to change your clothing. You can change your clothing outfit as often as you like.
The villagers in this version of Story of Seasons do not have specific clothing preferences, as you won't increase your relationships with them simply by wearing a specific color or style of clothing.
You won't unlock any new colors or styles of the default 12 outfits. There are special costumes that were available as pre-order bonuses for the Japanese version of the game. I don't know yet if these outfits will be available in the EN version as pre-order bonuses or if they'll be unlocked by default.

Costumes
These outfits looks the same when worn by any of the four main character styles. In Japan, most of these costumes were pre-order bonuses depending on the retailer the game was ordered from; meaning, players would have to buy multiple copies of the game to collect the DLC code for each costume. In North America, Europe, and Australia, most of these costumes are paid DLC. The Reindeer and Cherry-Blossom Sprite Costume are free with the game, but each other costume costs $1.99.
Reindeer and Cherry-Bloosom Sprite were also free for farmers in Japan, as they were included in bug-fix patches (version 1.1.2 and version 1.1.4, respectively).
