Bon Viviant
The traveling food critic visits Mineral Town once a year on Spring 22, the day of the town's annual cooking festival. Bon is the judge of the cooking competition, eagerly tasting each dish submitted and giving his opinion on how delicious the dish may (or may not) be. Bon really does love food!
Bon is a special marriage candidate available for chefs looking for a challenge. His marriage requirements revolve around your cooking skills, so he'll be looking for those who can master the cooking festival and collect all recipes in the game.
Birthday: Spring 21 (primary) or Spring 20 (alternative)
Bonus LP: You can earn friendship with the elusive Bon Viviant by cooking a dish using your kitchen. As he's only in town once a year for giving a single gift, he's increased his affection steadily as I've cooked meals.
Rival: (None)
Schedule: When Bon is around on Spring 22, you'll find him at the judging table in Rose Plaza. He won't accept gifts until after the festival is over, where he'll be at the bench in the northeast corner of the plaza from 6:00 pm until he walks away at 8:00 pm. You can give him one gift during his post-festival visit.
If you do manage to marry Bon Viviant, most of the time he will not be living on the farm. On the 10th, 20th, and 30th of every season, he will be inside the farmhouse all day. Also, there is a 25% chance that Bon will stop by your house to cook you a meal when you walk into your farm house and Bon has 60,0000 LP or more. The random lunch can occur between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, and the random dinner can occur between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
Even after marriage, Bon will not display a heart marker on his portrait or in the Villager List (at least in the JP version).

Heart Events
Bonny doesn't have romantic heart events, but there are requirements that must be met before he will accept the Blue Feather:
- Win the cooking festival 5 times
- Cook all available cooked meal recipes
- Have 60,000 LP or more with Bon Viviant
- Upgrade your house and own the Big Bed
In the original GBA game, wooers of the sexy gourmetman were required to win the cooking festival in each of the 5 categories (juice, desserts, bread, noodles, and rice). In this updated version of the game, the requirement is simply a total of 5 victories.
There are 120 cooking recipes in the game. Learning recipes can be done by interacting with the villagers, watching the Delicious Cooking show on Tuesdays, and being inspired after cooking existing recipes. Each recipe needs to be cooked using your kitchen. There is an in-game trophy, the Gourmet achievement, that will unlock after you have cooked all available dishes.
The game doesn't naturally keep track of which dishes you've cooked, so keep track by utilizing the Goddess Collection. The Goddess Collection is located inside of your farmhouse bookshelf and keeps track of the cooked meals you have offered to the Harvest Goddess. Make a habit of cooking new recipes you've learned and then tossing the meal into the Goddess' pond to add their entry into the collection.
After completing the requirements, head to the plaza after the cooking festival and give Bon Viviant the Blue Feather.
