Alexandrite | 10,000 G | Level 50, 100, 150, 200, 210, 220, 230, 240, and 250 to 255 |
Alexandrite will change color whether you are inside (red) or outside (green). The only thing you can find on levels 50, 100, 150, and 200 is Alexandrite, but the gem is so rare that you might only find one piece of it or possibly none at all. Convienently, the Lake Mine elevator stops at the Alexandrite levels. The easiest elevator level to hunt for Alexandrite is level 100, where there are no pesky pitfalls to be found that would interrupt your search for the elusive gem.
Pitfalls
There are fewer pitfall-enabled levels in the Lake Mine than in the Spring Mine, but the chance of stumbling over a hidden pitfall increases the further down into the mine you go.
- Level 10 to 68, except for any level that ends in 9 (19, 29, etc.)
- Level 80 to 90
- Level 130 to Level 140
- Level 150 to Level 160
- Level 170 to Level 180
- Level 200
- Level 240 to Level 248
You will have to move one floor at a time at many points during your descent of the Lake Mine, so bring lots of food to eat for stamina recovery.
Other Notable Items in the Lake Mine
Fishing Lake
On floor 9 you'll find a room with a large body of water in it. This underground lake is where you can catch the Coelacanth, one of the 7 king fish in the game. To successfully reel in this fish and add it to your fished items list, you need to have already caught 5 or more king fish. You also need to own a cursed, blessed, or mythic-level fishing pole, and charge the pole up to level 6 or 7 before casting.
Power Berry
This stamina-increasing item is located in the dirt on level 19. Dig it up using your hoe.
Fishing Pond
There is a doorway on level 9 that leads to a hidden underground pond. This is where you can catch the Coelacanth, a legendary fish king that lives in the pond. You will need to have a level 6 (cursed/blessed) or level 7 (mythic) fishing pole, and have caught at least 5 of the other whopper fish kings before you can successfully catch the Coelacanth.
Statues
There is one decorative statue hidden in the dirt within the Lake Mine. You can find the Kappa Statue hidden in the dirt on levels 101 to 120. The statue can be placed on the trophy shelf inside of your farmhouse, though it doesn't bring any benefits and can't be sold.
Kappa Jewels
The 9 round orbs are located in the rocks on:
- Levels 0 (the entrance), 40, 60, 80, 120, 140, 160, 180, and 255
Cursed Tools
Before these will appear within the dirt on specific mine levels, you will need to have your six farm tools (hoe, hammer, watering can, sickle, fishing pole, and axe) remodeled to Mithril level. You can then go digging for the cursed tools on the following floors:
- Floor 29 = Cursed Fishing Pole
- Floor 39 = Cursed Hoe
- Floor 49 = Cursed Axe
- Floor 59 = Cursed Hammer
- Floor 69 = Cursed Watering Can
- Floor 79 = Cursed Sickle
You won't find any pitfalls on the levels where a cursed tool has a random chance of appearing. If you're looking for these special items, the best way to handle the randomess is to save your game on the level before the cursed tool level and use the single-level down ladder to reach the cursed tool's location. That way if you don't locate the tool, you can reload your save game and take another attempt at it.
Your original set of six tools must be at Mithril level for the cursed tools to appear in the Lake Mine. You will also need empty slots in the tools section of your rucksack to find the tools hidden in the dirt.
