Yodel Ranch
Mugi runs the Yodel Ranch, where you can go to purchase alpaca, sheep, and various types of cows. Your farm has a fully-functioning barn when you move in, so you can obtain livestock as soon as you can afford to. Mugi's shop is open from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, and is closed on Mondays. And just like in the GBA game, you CANNOT get puppies from Mugi's dog, Hana.

Mugi's livestock animals will always have a maximum of 5 hearts of friendship. You will need to use breeding kits to obtain animals with more than 5 hearts. The size of milk you receive from using the Milker on your cows (bought from the Forge) is based on the number of hearts the cow has.
The calves will need to mature before you can collect milk from them. A calf will mature when it has been fed every day. If the calf is fed Fodder every day, it will mature into an adult cow in 9 days. If a day of feeding is missed, then it will take 14 days to mature. It is a good idea to hand-feed Fodder to calves (and birthed baby cows) to ensure they mature faster.
The sheep and alpaca are adults. You can sheer their fur using the Clippers from the Forge.

The breeding kits permit you to trigger a pregnancy with your livestock animals. Sheep and Alpaca must have their in-tact fur for the breeding kit to work. The offspring born from a pregnant livestock will have one more heart than its parent animal. A store-bought livestock animal will always produce a 6-heart baby animal, even if there is a 10-heart animal of the same type living on your farm; the auto-bump-to-10-hearts that is a function of chicken breeding does not work for livestock or angora rabbits.
