Arnold

Always busy working for his dad, Mayor Otto, Arnold has a serious nature and feels guilty for taking time for himself. The weight of his responsibilities are heavy on Arnold's shoulders. He feels he doesn't deserve free time to play his musical instruments while everyone else in Herbstburg is struggling, but we know that's going to lead to his eventual burnout. Perhaps you can show him that there is time in the day for both work and leisure.

Arnold's Events
- 1-note Event: Head toward Music Square to see Arnold playing his instrument. He can't play any more because he has to return to his studies. He promises to play for you another day.
- 2-note Event: Walk near the Music Square. Arnold explains that one of their chickens is loose and he needs help. You easily find the chicken for him. Arnold wants to repay you, and you remind him he promised to play you some music. He fetches his instrument and plays a tune just for you.
- 3-note Event: Lothar and Dirk have noticed you spending time with their little brother. They're glad to see Arnold has a friend! Arnold then comes up and notices you're here too. He is a bit embarrassed that his brothers think he is treating you differently than anyone else. Dirk asks if Arnold would be lonely if you never visited again. Oof, Arnold is becoming more annoyed and asks his brothers if they have work to do somewhere else. After they leave, Arnold wishes his brothers would take their jobs more seriously.
- 4-note Event: Around the Music Square area, Arnold is visibly upset. He had a quarrel with one of his brothers because Arnold says he what outside chatting instead of working. When he vocally objected to his brother's actions, Arnold was told to chill out. He's been debating whether breaks are good to take even during busy times. Arnold decides to return home to apologize to his brother.
- 5-note Event: Head back to Music Square, where Arnold explains you'll have to talk to him later. He's about to go help his brother clean the restaurant. You volunteer to help with the chore. At the restaurant, his three brothers are there to give Arnold a party as thanks for all his work; the restaurant didn't need cleaning after all. Turns out all the slacking off his brothers were doing, in Arnold's opinion, was to prepare for the party. After the event, Arnold realizes that while it may appear to him that someone isn't doing something, they may actually be working. He wants to work on not becoming annoyed when he notices idleness and asks that you keep an eye on him while he gets use to this new way of thinking.
- Token of Love Event: Arnold asks that you wait a second. He nervously gives you a token. You gave him one in exchange. Arnold is glad that his feelings weren't one-sided. Perhaps later he can take you to a place that has a scenic view of Herbstburg.
- 6-note Event: Arnold asks if you have a moment to go somewhere together. He takes you to the lookout point above Herbstburg. It is his favorite spot in the whole world. He plays the Harvest Melody on his instrument. Arnold explains that he always hid his music. When you found him behind the stage playing his instrument, it was the first time anyone had applauded after hearing his music. In fact, when he first played the Harvest Melody on the stage in front of everyone, he was playing it for you, even if it did sound a bit weird because the instruments weren't in tune.
Ella

A painter by trade, Ella quietly lives with her Grandma Agnes on the southeast edge of town. She loves to study and draw plants, but she lacks the confidence to show her art to others. What if they don't like it? Instead, it is safer for Ella to keep her gift to herself. Ella is a living wallflower, wanting to show off her talents and yet fearful of negative response.
Birthday: Autumn 3

- 1 Yellow Tulip = 6 Moulin Rouge Seeds
- 10 Apple = 5 Cotton Rosemallow Seeds
- 5 Pink Daisy = 5 White Mushroom
- 5 Pink Daisy, 5 Blue Hibiscus = 5 White Mushroom, 20 Porcini Mushroom
Ella's Events
- 1-note Event: Walk towards Ella's house. Ella is currently in a deep study of flowers in preparation for creating a drawing. You ask to see her art. Ella is hesitant, as she doesn't know of many who would appreciate her work, but agrees to show you the next picture she finishes.
- 2-note Event: Head towards Ella's house, where she'll exclaim that she just finished her latest drawing. She invites you inside and asks your opinion of her art. She didn't expect that you would like it! Ella figured you were a fan of the arts. While you can't eat a picture of food, life would have less meaning without art and music. She offers the picture to you to keep; you'll find it inside the Important Items section of your bag.
- 3-note Event: Inside Ella's house, Grandma Agnes is glad to see you. Agnes thanks you for spending time with Ella, as she isn't the friendliest person to get along with. Ella returns from her walk. She has a picture of Herbstburg she would like to show you. In fact, only you and Agnes have seen these drawings. Ella notes that she fears that if she shows these to others, they won't understand her passion and tell her to go work in the fields instead. You try to convince her that won't happen, but Ella isn't sure about that.
- 4-note Event: Walk near Ella's house to see her outside with an easel. She's almost done with her latest drawing. Suddenly, a gust of wind comes through and blows it away! Franziska and Hans find the picture and ask if you drew it. Nope! Ella shyly admits that it is her work. The kids are greatly impressed and become inspired to draw something too. After they leave, Ella admits that while it is scary to show her work to others, the praise does feel good. When she was a kid, someone told her to stop drawing and get back to work. Since then, she has been cautious about showing anyone her creations.
- 5-note Event: Head into Ella's house. The village kids come in as well. They're here to show Ella the pictures they've drawn. Ella sends them back out to practice drawing straight lines by sketching their favorite buildings. After they leave, Ella explains she has been giving them pointers on how to draw. She watched them struggle with their art and stepped in to help. Ella hopes that someday she can be as courageous as the kids are when they show their drawings to others.
- Token of Love: Ella wonders if your token offering means that you like her? She gives you a token too, and admits she's been thinking about you since your initial meeting. Ella wants to take you to a scenic spot someday.
- 6-note Event: Ella takes you her favorite place in all Herbstburg; the overlook above town. It's a quiet place with a refreshing breeze from the sea. She left all her art supplies at home so she could concentrate on spending time with you. Ella asks about your home town and hopes to see the cherry blossoms someday. It would be great to paint that! Ella admits she doesn't draw people and sticks with subjects she likes. She would paint you, though she left her supplies at home. Too bad she doesn't have a camera like you do! Photography is an artform too.
