This elderly man is married to Hana and lives at the General Store. When you first move to Echo Village, Kosaburo will be out-of-town. He will move back once you have reached Winter 1 of your first year and his wife has 30,000 or more Friendship Points.

Kosaburo runs a Bait Shop inside of the General Store. His tackle shop is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You can buy Fish Traps from him for 150 G each, which is rather inexpensive. It may be easier to buy Fish Traps from Kosaburo than to make them yourself using your construction workshop.

He can also craft special fishing food that you can use to entice fish to bite more often while you're fishing. This is a good option to use if you're trying to win the Fall Fishing Tournament and you don't have the ingredients to craft Angler's Dream using your Medicine Maker machine.

Raising Kosaburo's friendship will earn you the blueprint for the Master Rod. The easiest way to raise his friendship is to give him fish. He likes them all!
